Designing Enterprise Architecture in an Uncertain World
Significant volatility is clearly forecasted across geopolitical and macro-economic fronts, raising critical questions about how these forces shape enterprise architecture decisions and long-term technology planning. The need to navigate a complex landscape that can balance the need for stability with resilience with the flexibility needed to adapt to new risks and opportunities has never been sharper. Where do we see global operational opportunities and exposure - what do we build internally to differentiate, and what do we leverage externally for capital efficiency - and how do we design and govern for radically changing cyber security and national security requirements?
Architecting for Autonomous Processing and Operating Models
Despite all the innovation we have seen in 2024 with the conversational part of Generative AI, the biggest shift is ahead - as Generative AI moves from from Knowledge to Reasoning. This will be a game changer as we move from spot use of AI in sub-tasks to automating end-to-end processes entirely. And even though this may be timed for later in many corporations, the foundations upon which this will need to be built need to be informed now. But where is AI (and agentic AI) real, what are the best opportunities, where are the bumps on the road, and what tradeoffs should we look to balance? More importantly - do we architect this new capability at the core or the edge - how do we design operating models that align with this new technology, and how do we govern in a high-velocity multi-agentic world of processing?
Energy Modernization : A Tour of the Testing Lab
Electrification is the backbone of the global economy, its importance only growing with the rapid expansion of AI and other energy-intensive technologies. Equally this progress has to be necessarily balanced with sustainability and decarbonization that is key to how we scale. At the heart of this ecosystem is the energy systems leader, GE Vernova - accelerating a path to more reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy, while helping customers power economies and deliver the electricity that is vital to health, safety, security, and improved quality of life. We will visit GE Vernova’s testing lab for a behind the scenes tour, and gain a unique perspective as we explore cutting-edge advancements in electrical power systems.
Building for Scale: A Deep Dive with our Host
As a newly launched spin-off, GE Vernova represents an opportunity unlike others - the opportunity to be ~$35B public startup - and with it, the opportunity to lay out its enterprise architecture anew. Together we will explore opportunities, tradeoffs, and best practices around AI, data, and modern SaaS strategy, enterprise governance, and business transformation.
